Since April of 2004, Woods has served on the staff at the First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Louisiana; presently he serves as the “Adult Groups Pastor,” where he leads the church’s small group Bible study ministry as well as working with the Men’s Ministry, Prayer Ministry and Senior Adult Ministry. Dr. Watson has served for 46 years in local church ministry including as a church consultant, a lead pastor, an inner-city missionary, and a church planter of three churches.
In 2008 Woods shifted his responsibilities to serve in the Senior Adult ministry at First West, a 100-year-old Southern Baptist church with two multi-site locations; it is rare to have this large a church in a community of 150,000 people in northeast Louisiana. Woods has been involved with the Metro 55 Plus group since 2009, having served as president in 2012.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Watson received the Bachelor of Arts degree from Samford University and the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; he has also studied at the Torchbearer Bible schools in England (Capernwray) and Sweden (Holsby Brunn).
In his spare time, he teaches at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary extension in Monroe, and volunteers with the Northeast Louisiana Reentry Coalition, the Freedom Innovators, the Freed Men Ministry, the Ministry of Inspirational Therapy, and the Salvation Army. He also likes running, reading, writing, and helping Anita at Northeast Baptist School, where she is principal. He and Anita have six children and two perfect grandchildren.

First Baptist Church Hendersonville, Tennessee,
I have been in ministry for 40+ years. I’ve been working with Sr. Adults all of those years.
I have served at Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama for over 20 years. We have 3 campuses. One downtown location and one at Dauphin Island as well as our main campus. Connecting people to Jesus Christ and one another is our mission statement; but a big part of our DNA is getting people to serve our community outside the walls of our church by participating in what we call "Love Where You Live" mission projects.
I have been a member of Metro 55 Plus for 10+ years.
Kevin Burdette serves as the Minister to Senior Adult/Pastoral Care at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX. In 2007, Kevin accepted his pastor’s challenge to begin a new ministry focused on the Baby Boomer Generation and working with church members and community organizations to begin new ministries. In January 2020 he transitioned into his current role of serving with the Senior Adults.
Kevin grew up in Prattville, AL. He received his BA from the University of Mobile (AL) and master’s degree from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth. He also studied two summers at Oxford University in England.
